Lime Tree

I GOT MY EARRING BACK IN. woooo life made. We got to sleep in a little today and then went and did a service project in the village. I didn't get to see my Fijian boyfriend though! ๐Ÿ˜ญ we planted trees and fruits. My clothes got muddy but now I have a tree in Fiji ๐ŸŒณ they sang us a song and it was so pretty. I'll miss the people here they're soooo kind.

I got asked if I was Fijian again . I started saying that I am.

I'm coming home tomorrow and can't wait! I LOVE AMERICA. I miss my bed and my shower and pretty much everything.

There are so many sketchy surfer dudes around here. They were super drunk and it was hilarious. So many great memories. We sang karaoke a little too. It was a fun night at mango bay.

Beautiful Scenery

We woke up early today!
6am! It was an hour drive to Rivers Fiji and it was into the mountainous rainforest. The bus had a weird third seat that could fold down into the isle. It was very bumpy too.

The kayaks were so hard to steer. They were inflatable and every time I paddled it spun me around and I was backward. It was difficult. On the plus side, when I hit rocks I bounced off them instead of tipping over.

In the middle of our kayaking we stopped and hiked to a waterfall. It was sooooo pretty. It looked like a picture out of a magazine. We walked into the waterfall and I slipped and fell into it ๐Ÿ˜‚ classic Rhyan. I jumped off a rock  into the pond created by the waterfall it was awesome. CLIFF DIVING cross that off my bucket list too. I can't get over how amazing it was. after we got done kayaking a boat picked us up and we went for a little ride down the river. There were so many waterfalls it was BEAUTIFUL.

My earring fell out on the way there and when I tired to put it back in when we got home it's so infected๐Ÿ˜ญ  I think the hole might close. I'll be so sad.

I haven't finished my module yet and it's due tomorrow at 7am. That means I have 2 assignments to do tonight. Oh procrastination.

I'm now know as Rhyonรฉ because of my constant singing of drunk in love and other factors.

Vuta Village

We're on a bus!
To the village we go.
Hopefully it will be a good experience. I wonder who I'll be with in my house! & I wonder if they'll mistake me for a Fijian again.

There are so many children in the village. They're very nice people though. I drank kava today ๐Ÿ˜ท it tasted so Earthy (aka: nasty). I live with a family of I think 4? I can't really tell because everyone is in everyone's houses. I have a sister Millie19 and a brother Ellie 21. They're great. I bought some stuff from the mom she makes arts and crafts then I got a henna.

The village has tons of dogs. My families house is right by the ocean so that's pretty cool. We had a lecture that lasted literally 2 hours long. WHATTT. we learned all about water quality and fish.

For meals they eat on the floor with a blanket as the table and no silver wear. Dinner was okay until there was a full fish lying in the plate. Head still attached. I had an almost mental breakdown. The fruit here is fantastic!

Oh and I did get mistaken as Fijian.

Paradise

We visited Mana island today! It was sooooooooo wonderful. A ferry took us out to the island and we drove by the island where survivor Fiji was filmed! It's and island called bounty island. It's weird because there are actual resorts on that island. Apparently the crew stayed on the half of the island that was nice and the cast was on the other side where there's forest. Great photo shopping the makers did.

When we got off the ferry there was people singing to welcome us. It was such beautiful singing. They had guitars and ukuleles all the wonderful instruments they sounded tropical.
I later on the beach for a lot of the day. I GOT SO TAN ๐Ÿ˜ƒ my back got the darkest. This island was the best thing ever I never wanted to leave. We went in a submarine and saw a lot of marine life. We saw 4 sharks! One was swimming around it was awesome. I tired snorkeling again and still drank so much salt water.
Man I suck.

I am now know as Rhyoncรฉ due to the fact I sing Drunk in Love at least twice everyday. She's gorgeous. I sing as good as her too. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm practically her twin.

Sam is Shakira

On the ferry ride back the ride was a little rougher and uber windy. So windy Laura's ice cream blew off the stick onto everyone around her.

I saw cats today. Fijian cats! They had pretty eyes! I love cats. I miss my Fleecer ❤️

I'm only buying Fiji water from now on so I can support my people. According to myself.

There is a wild animal running around on the roof.

Fiji Time

Fiji time is real.
Everything has been running late and it's driving me cray cray. Breakfast was at 7 but we didn't get food until 7:40ish. That will take getting use to. We're staying at this hotel and some rooms are really nice and others(like mine) look like prison. I have culture shock & miss America.

Dear whoever reading this,
Please take me to Taco Bell when I get home.
Sincerely,
A girl who misses American food

Off my soap box.
Today we went to Nadi and got to see the town. We went to a Hindu Temple. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen. So many beautiful colors. And they have cows that you whisper in the left ear and make a wish. I pretty much want a cow statue now. I could make wishes all the time. ๐Ÿ˜Š I hope the wishes I made come true. One was for health and the other was a life wish. I can tell you that and it won't give it away. Wishes are my favorite ๐Ÿ‘

Ohhh,
Today in town a few of us went to find a souvenir store type of thing. We were led to a wacked out ally by a Fijian woman and up creeky stairs to a cute little market store. It was all fine and dandy until they offered us kava. Being Americans were not used to the bacteria in the water here, and kava happens to be made with water. We all sat in a circle and the Fijians welcomed us with the kava. We pretended to drink it and them we ran out. Needless to say it was awkward. Fijians are really good sales people too. BEWARE.

I was asked about 10 times from different people if I was Fijian. I must really look similar. I finally just started saying yes. I've come to terms that I'm a Fijian.

"Don't drink street kava"

No Sleep No problem

Today we got 2 hours of sleep!
Sooo sleepy. We got to the hotel and had to wait forever to get our room. They run on island time here so everything is late.

I'm sleep deprived and grumpy. We meet 7 new girls from the states and then a huge group came from New Zealand. So our group has pretty much doubled in size. The people seem pretty nice so it should be a good trip.

The water here is bad and we're not suppose to drink it. I'm paranoid that I'll get sick ๐Ÿ˜ญ I'll be so sad if I do. I'm avoiding everything with water in it. Minus bottle water ❤️

We went to the grocery store and saw beats for $25 so we were like whattt and asked to see them. It was the funniest thing ever. Worst knock offs I've ever seen. But very comical.

We ate at pizza king and it was nothing like home. The sauce was sweeter than normal and they served chicken and fries with pizza. What even is this.

Fiji words:
Mboola- hello,hi
Vinaka- thank you

Bye Australia

1Bye Australia!

We're on our way to Melbourne then were flying out to Fiji! It's been such a great time here I'm sad about leaving ๐Ÿ˜ญ

We're currently cursing at 36 thousand feet. YES HE ANNOUNCED THE ELEVATION! for those of you who don't know, that's like my favorite part of anything. And this plane is so not comfortable. At all. There's a baby who's been cuing for at least 3/4 of the flight. Poor baby.

We've been sitting in Melbourne for a long while. When I went to buy tea my card was declined! The bank out a fraud alert on it. Perfect. But thanks to my mom and a lady Mary it's all good now! Woooo Fiji ❤️

The island looks so perfect.

I LOVE NANDOS. ๐Ÿ” it is the greatest place ever. Pitaaaaa I'm going to go home and crave it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ thanks Niall ❤️My boyfriends always know best.

Great Barrier Reef

Bright and early we're off to the Great Barrier Reef! A bus is here to pick us up and drive us the 4 minutes to the dock. Before we left we went across the street to grab some quick breakfast from the cafรฉ. I got a cookie ๐Ÿ˜ณ oooops.

We're riding on a boat called calypso. It was just suppose to be ASU students but many other people are on our boat which I guess is okay because Ben is very cute. Maybe ill fall overboard. The top deck is the worst with motion. You'll go flying everywhere. It was so awesome and my favorite part of the boat. It was so intense I couldn't even stand up without falling over. I discovered that I love boats. They're are so very awesome. I wish I had one, a fast one. Vroooom vroooom.

I'm so bad at snorkeling. I drank more salt water than I did anything else. It was the saltiest water I've ever tasted. The whole breathing out of my mouth all the time was difficult too. I lost my friend in the water and ended up all alone in the open water. I was for sure a shark was going to kill me. But it's okay I'm alive. The reef wasn't as pretty as I expected. It was dull in color not bright like the pictures. Boo. There were some cool fish though. Very brightly colored and cute. Apparently after Nemo came out the demand for clown fish went up and there aren't any left in the reef. How unfortunate.

My sunglasses broke. I had to buy new ones. I got ones with a floral pattern on them. It was only $9. Thank you chemist.

We ate at pizza place and it was yummy pizza. The ground was sand which I thought was pretty cool. It was super beachy

Back to civilization

Peace out wilderness.
There was a huge spider in someone's tent this morning. It was literally the size of a hand. POSION. Two poisonous animals within 24 hours. Grossssss

We're off to PORT DOGUIE again we're going to see the reef then we'll be going to Fiji! Another group of people is joining us when we get there. They have been in New Zealand for a while. It should be interesting mixing our groups together.

We explored the town! It's a cute little town. I spent a lot of money there ๐Ÿ˜ณ I got awesome souvenirs for some awesome people. Myself included haha. I bought Tim Tams... thee best cookie things ever. *drooling*  it was pretty much just a day of traveling and shopping. Nothing too exciting

Surviving the Outback

THE OUTBACK SUCKED!
It got so cold last night if thought I was going to die of hypothermia. I woke up with a cold it was that freezing. I can't even believe it.

We went on a nature walk for a lecture today and it was pretty awesome. Probably one of my favorite lectures so far. We learned a lot of random facts about birds and trees. I found it entertaining. The campsite is literally such a long walk from where everything is. We have to walk up like 3 huge hills. Talk about a workout.

The sunset tonight was gorgeous. We hiked to a lookout and watched it set from there. It was my first outback sunset. The outback isn't that bad during the day. I'm pretty sure I got tan today so that makes me happy. The night time here sucks because it's dark as crap. We don't have a very good flashlight either. Laura and I almost killed ourselves trying to go down the hills.

Here's the most exciting part of my day. I SAW A SNAKE! A real life snake it was about 6 feet long! ๐Ÿ According to picture comparisons it was a red bellied black snake. Which are highly poisonous. Talk about scary!

Another great part of my day was playing mafia. I got to be the killer and it took forever for them to figure out it was me๐Ÿ˜‚ mwahahaha.

Aussie Words:
Cheeky: sassy

Outback experience

We left Ellen and Aldo today :( and Claudey today. I'll miss that kitty he was my bud for those days. Ellen loved the gifts we gave her it was so sweet because she gave us gifts in return! It made me so happy. She was precious.

The outback is insane. We're literally living in tents. I might die. PRAY FOR ME. I'm sharing a tent with Laura so that's kinda sweet. Maybe I'll survive. There is literally no civilization. I don't even have service and they are no plugs so I hope my stuff doesn't die. I'd be so upset. It's kind of nice not having my phone though. If we're being honest. They got my dietary needs wrong so they didn't have a no pork meal for me today :( luckily there was extra vegetarian meal. I almost freaked.

The stars here are awesome! We can literally see the milky walk. It's beautiful! I wish I could sleep under them but I'm afraid of snakes. Pictures don't turn out so it'll be a mental memory, okay I'm going to bed so I can leave sooner. Hahahaha. I can do the outdoor thing just not at night.

Farmstay Day2

1We woke up at 7 today to go for a walk down the lane. It's so quiet here. I'm still full from last night so I think I'll never eat again. This woman feeds us sooo much. I probably gained 50lbs. I'm totally going for a run tonight.

We went with Aldo around the farm to see cows! We rode in his 16 year old truck around the huge farm. They have baby cows that are so cute. We were looking from afar so I didn't have to smell or play with them. I thought the babies were the cutest. Why can't they all stay that size.

Ellen forced us to sew buttons on a scarf it was so hard. wife me. We're going out for dinner which should be fun. But I'm soooo full. I can't wait to go to Fiji ๐Ÿ˜

We went to diner and on the way I encountered my first Australian spider! I freaked out a bit and Aldo who was driving turned around to look and we went off the road and into the ditch hahahahahaha Ellen startling yelling at Aldo. It was rather hilarious... Like super hilarious I've been laughing about it for hours. It  actually wasn't a ditch though. It was more like taller grass. They don't really have actual ditches here. No worries the spider went out of the window and I survived. At the restaurant I saw this woman who reminded me a lot of my mom. I must miss her.
